Guess whose back? With a barn yard too!

Yes, I'm back after a several month hiatus (un-announced of course) and playing another hunter on another server. Playing Alliance again, on an RP realm... Moon Guard. I'm on 'Guard because a really good real life friend of mine is playing there with her daughter and encouraged me to tag along. I accepted.

Let me say now that I am in no way, shape, or form an RPer... I have no freaking clue what I'm doing. At least when it comes to the RP aspect of it. When it comes to hunter? I know exactly what I'm doing... most of the time.

I took the name Tzia, again. So I now have a Horde (Quel'dorei) Tzia and an Alliance (Moon Guard) Tzia. Both, funnily enough, are in the same Battlegroup. So, if I run into any QD players who pause over the name, yes - it is me, and I am going to try my hardest to kick your butt.

(MG)Tzia, as I will refer to her from now on, is level 32, Draenei, and has a pig (Princess look) named Misha. She also has a little chicken Non-combat pet tagging along that she calls Harold. I went Stormwind Rep this time, and she is on the back of a black stallion.

I've jokingly said to my guild that I have a mini-barn yard, with Tzia in the lead. So far all personalities seem to mesh very well with mine, and they appreciate the joke of a mini-barn yard running around Azeroth.

This hunter is also goaled for 70, and my friend is leveling another hunter while I'm leveling up, and her daughter, who has a Horde 70 Hunter, is leveling a priest... and kicking my butt in the leveling department. Priests aren't supposed to do that!

Ah well, I'm back, I'm having fun and hopefully I will keep this blog a touch more up to date than I have in the past!

Gear Leaders versus Guild Leaders

*Warning Contains Mature Language*
If you are offended by mature topics feel free to skip this post. If not, read on but you have been warned and cannot take offense.

I ran into a highly distasteful situation last night. Was on one of my numerous hunters (I have four spread out between four different realms) and a guildie in this guild admitted to disrespecting another guild and insinuating that he had used pedofila in his insult just because the guild was advertizing on trade chat. I saw the guild he was insulting... yes they were annoyingly spamming trade chat with their messsage, but that gave the other person no right to post such a thing in trade chat. That action also violated the guild charters section on Code of Conduct...
• Members will avoid profanity, obscenities, “spam”, and sexually explicit expressions in public communications.

• Members will avoid making derogatory remarks about others or about race, religion, sexual orientation, or other personal topics.

• Members will be polite and mannerly, giving respect to guildmates, comrades, allies, and authority.

• Members will exhibit self-discipline and show respect to the guild, its members, and its officers by obeying the Rules and the Code of Conduct.

Because in that guild I had no power to do anything other than express my displeasure, I did so to the guild leader himself. The guild leader read the statment and said "in a minute" to my request for a public statement of censure or outright removal of the person... he said in a minute because he was killing something at the time. There were also 2 other officers on at the time the statement was made.

By the time the guild leader got around to it the offender had made a JOKE out of the entire statement, finding it apparently hillarious and the officers and guild leader did NOTHING, because the offender's behavior had not changed one wit nor was the conversation dropped, and then the person logged off and the guild leader shrugged it off as a missed oppurtunity.

This leads into my post... I have found there to be two kinds of leaders in a guild. One that cares more about the gear on their character and protecting it, and one that cares more about their guild and protecting THAT.

I fall into the second catagory. I will let my character DIE to correct such a thing... it would have taken me only as long as finding the offender's name in my guild listing and clicking remove. Five seconds tops. Now, to publically give the person a dressing down might have taken a bit longer and killed me, but I would rather take a repair hit than take a guild reputation hit. Money is unimportant in WoW... extremely easy to make and spend. A guild's reputation is not, once damaged it remains so.

I logged off that character in disgust after watching nothing happen to the offender... not even a post logout kick and mail (which would have been my other option).

I let it rest for the evening and then came back today to see the offender and the guild leader and both the officers on a Kara run together. My jaw litterally dropped when I saw that. So I made a flat public statement saying that I could not be party to a guild whose charter means nothing, and wished them luck and dropped both my characters out of the guild.

Is what I maintain in Damage May Vary so drastically diffrent than everything else out there in WoW? I mean really... how hard is it to RESPECT those you are playing with, obey a charter, and take the moral high road?!

From the DMV Charter:
Members are expected to behave in an honorable manner, to treat one another with courtesy and respect, and to display good Netiquette at all times. Failure to follow the rules listed here may lead to disciplinary action possibly including removal from the Community. [...]

Remember that while playing a game as a part of our Community, what you do reflects on the Community as a whole. Act honorably towards others, even if they act dishonorably towards you. This includes acting honorably towards those of opposing factions and those that would "grief" you. Treat others with respect and you will earn the respect of others.

And this is the second time where my views on what a guild SHOULD be have fallen far short when it comes to other guilds. But then, both of those guilds were Gear Leaders and not Guild Leaders.

Sorry!

First off, to appoligise to anyone that has been reading Have Bow, I'm sorry! I've not been posting for over a month due to some pretty major upheavals in guild interactions on Quel'dorei, and a new MMO coming out.

World of Warcraft updates first...

Quel'dorei Updates
Chens Champions is no more. We lost one of our officers as well to Silvermoon Tradesmen. Good luck Rivey and all the rest, may you have more luck with SMT than you did with us! Know that we are always here still, even with all the changes, and grats on the Gruul's kill!

Even though CC is gone, we are not completely lost. We have reformed as Damage May Vary on Quel'dorei... I will be updating my own profile on Tzia to reflect the changes. Tzia is no longer an "active" character, she's been shelved in favor of a warrior- Divera and another hunter- Diante.

With DMV having come up as a re-formed guild, and a bit of unintentioned drama - which I will not go into - I've been pretty busy recruiting right left and center. I seem to spend about 30-40% of my time on WoW now recruiting for the guild, since I am the officer that is on the most, and therefore recruit pretty heavily. Went from 12 unique members to 45. I'm happy, we stand at 61 members with alts, and we can only grow.

I still want to raid, but with the re-form, we were put back into starter stages and bringing people back up. I can more than level Divera up to tank for a guild, I want to try it, I've seen raids and instances as a hunter and am almost sick of doing them from Tzia, Divera ought to give me a change.

Echo Isles Updates
Yazmin is still level 61, she's half way through 61 after my last little bout of logging in to advertise a radio station that ties into the OTHER MMO I'm occasionally playing... more on that later.

I did come up with a name for my lion - Nova. Think blinding white star :) So he's taken care of Nova the white lion, and Xavi the boar. Those will be my two pets on EI for some time to come, and if I actually have the time to play with Phoenix Wrath, I will. Sounds like ZA is their current area of play.

Other MMO
Yes, I did mention that I'd been also poking at another MMO. That MMO is Pirates of the Burning Sea. Great little game set in the age of sail. I've got a Naval Officer and a Privateer on the Kidd Server, Spanish Nation. Viva la Espana!

Its slower paced than WoW, I actually have time in the middle of battle to decide which shot type (bar, round, chain, stone) to use before the other ship closes on me, or I can force the engagement early by sailing directly into the roar of cannon-fire and going broadside to broadside with a ship twice my level and fire power. I'm having a blast (litterally) with the game, and got to see two major pvp engagements at a 17 privateer. Two port battles under my belt, and I want to do it again!

I'm having fun, can be found on the burningsea forums (http://www.burningsea.com)as Tzia. I believe I have my Naval Officer listed. If you want to check out the game? GO KIDD! GO SPAIN! We need a bit of help ... no seriously, we are the 2nd least populus nation, and the least populus one - France - is steam rolling the map currently. They also have the very first First Rate Ship of the Line (biggest ship in game) under the command of one of their people... that's 102 guns a deafening roar when it goes off right next to you and sends your poor lil ship to the bottom of the sea. :D (Havana port battle... soo dead, but soo much fun!)

We have a branch of DMV over at Pirates, Kidd, Spain. Society Leader is Andre Deloc. Most of the time, I'll be on Quel'dorei on WoW, since I'm leading DMV over there. I occasionally pop on to see how he's doing, sink a few Pirates, French, and Brits, then go back to WoW.

"Booty Island Radio, shaking your sails and rocking your booty!"
Now, as for what I'm listening to while sailing the high seas, or trying to bring down the Fel Reaver in Outlands is booty.gamingradio.net. Yes, its a net radio station, but I love it. One of my guildmates in both Pirates and WoW is a DJ on Saturday nights from 0100 - 0400 GMT. I've usually got it running behind the games I'm playing, and the music is so varied and the djs have me laughing half the time even as I just got squashed by the Fel Reaver for the fourth time that night, or an Hijos Verdaderos has just dragged me into a fight I cannot win and have to turn my hull away from the wind, into green and RUN.

I may start posting more... let's hope... I'm playing WoW still, with an occasional dip into Pirates when my guilds have driven me a bit too batty and I just need to be a regular member without a lot of decisions on my head for a bit...
