Sorry!

First off, to appoligise to anyone that has been reading Have Bow, I'm sorry! I've not been posting for over a month due to some pretty major upheavals in guild interactions on Quel'dorei, and a new MMO coming out.

World of Warcraft updates first...

Quel'dorei Updates
Chens Champions is no more. We lost one of our officers as well to Silvermoon Tradesmen. Good luck Rivey and all the rest, may you have more luck with SMT than you did with us! Know that we are always here still, even with all the changes, and grats on the Gruul's kill!

Even though CC is gone, we are not completely lost. We have reformed as Damage May Vary on Quel'dorei... I will be updating my own profile on Tzia to reflect the changes. Tzia is no longer an "active" character, she's been shelved in favor of a warrior- Divera and another hunter- Diante.

With DMV having come up as a re-formed guild, and a bit of unintentioned drama - which I will not go into - I've been pretty busy recruiting right left and center. I seem to spend about 30-40% of my time on WoW now recruiting for the guild, since I am the officer that is on the most, and therefore recruit pretty heavily. Went from 12 unique members to 45. I'm happy, we stand at 61 members with alts, and we can only grow.

I still want to raid, but with the re-form, we were put back into starter stages and bringing people back up. I can more than level Divera up to tank for a guild, I want to try it, I've seen raids and instances as a hunter and am almost sick of doing them from Tzia, Divera ought to give me a change.

Echo Isles Updates
Yazmin is still level 61, she's half way through 61 after my last little bout of logging in to advertise a radio station that ties into the OTHER MMO I'm occasionally playing... more on that later.

I did come up with a name for my lion - Nova. Think blinding white star :) So he's taken care of Nova the white lion, and Xavi the boar. Those will be my two pets on EI for some time to come, and if I actually have the time to play with Phoenix Wrath, I will. Sounds like ZA is their current area of play.

Other MMO
Yes, I did mention that I'd been also poking at another MMO. That MMO is Pirates of the Burning Sea. Great little game set in the age of sail. I've got a Naval Officer and a Privateer on the Kidd Server, Spanish Nation. Viva la Espana!

Its slower paced than WoW, I actually have time in the middle of battle to decide which shot type (bar, round, chain, stone) to use before the other ship closes on me, or I can force the engagement early by sailing directly into the roar of cannon-fire and going broadside to broadside with a ship twice my level and fire power. I'm having a blast (litterally) with the game, and got to see two major pvp engagements at a 17 privateer. Two port battles under my belt, and I want to do it again!

I'm having fun, can be found on the burningsea forums (http://www.burningsea.com)as Tzia. I believe I have my Naval Officer listed. If you want to check out the game? GO KIDD! GO SPAIN! We need a bit of help ... no seriously, we are the 2nd least populus nation, and the least populus one - France - is steam rolling the map currently. They also have the very first First Rate Ship of the Line (biggest ship in game) under the command of one of their people... that's 102 guns a deafening roar when it goes off right next to you and sends your poor lil ship to the bottom of the sea. :D (Havana port battle... soo dead, but soo much fun!)

We have a branch of DMV over at Pirates, Kidd, Spain. Society Leader is Andre Deloc. Most of the time, I'll be on Quel'dorei on WoW, since I'm leading DMV over there. I occasionally pop on to see how he's doing, sink a few Pirates, French, and Brits, then go back to WoW.

"Booty Island Radio, shaking your sails and rocking your booty!"
Now, as for what I'm listening to while sailing the high seas, or trying to bring down the Fel Reaver in Outlands is booty.gamingradio.net. Yes, its a net radio station, but I love it. One of my guildmates in both Pirates and WoW is a DJ on Saturday nights from 0100 - 0400 GMT. I've usually got it running behind the games I'm playing, and the music is so varied and the djs have me laughing half the time even as I just got squashed by the Fel Reaver for the fourth time that night, or an Hijos Verdaderos has just dragged me into a fight I cannot win and have to turn my hull away from the wind, into green and RUN.

I may start posting more... let's hope... I'm playing WoW still, with an occasional dip into Pirates when my guilds have driven me a bit too batty and I just need to be a regular member without a lot of decisions on my head for a bit...

Some Days

You know the old Meridith Brooks Song? Pugging BF one day, then Ramps the next on Yazmin... let's just say that BF went much smoother.

The only one a lil bit slow in Blood Furnace was the rogue. He "intercepted" my trap target 3-4 times. The shaman I was running with got my side-tells mostly *headesk* while traps were accidentally being poisoned/intercepted by the rogue and goofing my timers up. Once we got through the message of "Trap IS Blue Square", things came off without a hitch... until we missed a stealthed rogue while I was setting a pull and it killed me, which resulted in our first full wipe.

Then the rogue disconnected and didn't come back, so we ended up calling the run at about half way... hey, we tried to work without the rogue, couldn't find anyone, it had taken my guild mate and I about an hour just to get that group together, so I'm glad we got as far as we did - even though my guild mate subbed himself out for me because he had already run the instance, they had one too many dps slots and he subbed out in favor of my having Crowd Control.

Hellfire Ramparts. Suposed to be easier than Blood Furnace. And it probably would have been if not for an idiot tank. Group makeup was a 70 Tankadin, a Holy Pally, a 70 Hunter, a Priest and Me. The Tankadin tried to tell me at 61, to drop a Snake Trap, even though I was fully capable of chain trapping. When I pointed out I wouldn't have it, he tried to claim he'd been talking to the 70, and refused to double chain trap. If both hunters are fully capable? WHY NOT?! I won't use the trap on my 70 with other hunters around if we are trapping things, because I'm pretty sure the snakes poison, which would goof any other hunter's trap target up.

Wouldn't suprise me if it weren't annoyed stress but my eyes started bugging out after a few pulls, litterally not wanting to focus on the computer screen. My DPS dropped way off, because I wasn't seeing correctly and after we managed to down the first boss the hunter and the tank announced they had Kara and had to leave. I hit Alt F4 and shut my computer down.

When your eyes don't want to see right, which makes you question where your mouse is, what your shot rotation is actually doing (fingers were over one too many for the rotation to work), and your send pet macro targets the wrong thing... its just time to get off the computer.

I'll save Blood Furnace and Ramps for another day I guess. Maybe I won't have to deal with dimwitted 70s... but maybe I should have realized that when I realized the tank was 70 and doing a "new to Outlands" instance?

Yaz Recap and Name My Lion!

Back to hunter. Well, Yazmin dinged 61, and I still have quite a bit of Hellfire in front of me. Playing back through it with Dione is making me realize that Hellfire, in all reality is a pretty short zone, and I may have it done before I get anywhere close to 62. All that remains is to finish up and then move on to Zangarmarsh.

I'm still having issues coming up with a name for my Sian. And since I'm having so many issues with the naming process... I guess its time for people to feel free in offering suggestions. I know the hunter community has a wealth of resources out there... I've seen it on Petopia (Mania's) Blog in the past when it comes to naming pets.

Sian Rotam is a white male lion (looks identical to Echeyakee which, if I remember right means Whitemist). Since its a male, white lion with blue eyes, please try and keep the names in that field - male. Otherwise have fun. My boar is named Xavi (short for Xavier ^_^).

Pictures

Since I'm a bit stuck with names, and the like for the lion, I decided to post pics of Yazmin with her two favorite pets. So far its Xavi, my RFK boar, and the white lion, formerly Sian-Rotam.

Yazmin and Sian hanging out in Winterspring.

Yazmin and Xavi relaxing in Stormwind.

And just so that Ruka doesn't feel left out...

Tzia and Ruka waiting on a GM ticket after a successful Moroes kill.

Gee, I seem to do a lot of sitting around, or so you'd think with the pics I tend to take. ^_^ But in all reality, I've managed to get Yazmin to 60 with 12 days /played under her.

Happy Dance

Well, more good news. I got Sian to spawn the first time I tried the quest the day after I posted my lil rant. I had to tame a diffrent cat before the attempt -- my temporary Shy ran off on me, even though I had JUST fed it a chunk of high quality meat... go figure, guess she didn't like Roasted Quail?

And, I hadn't really beem feeding that Shy modle much... wasn't going to be a permanent pet, so I figured an occasional chunk of food here or there would hold me long enough to get Sian... and it almost was. I took Shy down for the last time with a 58 Frostsaber Cub.

I froze Sian, after having slapped him with an arcane, concussive mix - so he would be sticking around, and then poured on the damage, to drop Shy as fast as possible... three shots in a row missed. She died right as the first trap broke, and I clicked abandon on the temp pet. I started taming, and he feared me... >.<

I ran around like a ninny, praying that he wouldn't despawn on me, came out of the fear, slapped him with concussive again, dropped a trap and started the tame. I think he hit me a total of three times during that tame, and then? He was my beautiful boy.

I'm still trying to come up with a name for him, but I'll get one figured out eventually here. Both of my "major pets" on Yazmin have been hard to come by pets - Xavi the RFK boar, which I tamed @ 30 and died 5 times to get, one of those to Xavi. Sian took a little over two days worth of attempts. That and, as far as this server is concerned? I've seen a total of 3 white lions, counting my own. And one of them I know for sure is Echeyakee, just because I've seen the cat at 45 and again at 58.

Sian will be my dps pet when Xavi and I hit 70. I've leveled up pets from 60 to 70 before, I can do it again. Xavi also hit 60 last night, so for me it will be time to hunt down a temp pet and venture into EPL ... how I hate that place ... and snap up an ugly boar, learn the skills, then ditch it.

Fustrations

On a good note? Yazmin hit 60! Woohoo! Bad note? I can't get Sian Rotam to spawn for the life of me. Believe me, I've tried and tried, and no white lion. He hasn't even acquiesced to make an appearance, no matter how many times Shy asks for him. Its begining to get annoying. I have a temporary Shy as my kill-everything-in-sight pet, but Sian won't show up.

I really do want this cat, so, I guess I will be spending some time in Winterspring until the cat either spawns or I get sick of it... which, knowing me, is going to take quite some time. If I can camp for 8 hours on one hunter after Humar, I can more than deal with the mess that Sian is proving to be.

I did get a GM Ticket answer, basically it was a "hmm fascinating" response. Que sera! At least they took the time to respond to me, and confirmed that as far as they were aware he's still in game.

I switched over to Tzia, and went through the quest... killing Shy far, far too quickly the first three times... when the cat has roughly 3.2k health and your aimed shots crit for 2.5, you end up almost one shotting the cat. But, I did managed to slow down the fight enough that I got Sian to spawn for me on Tzia.

Now if only Yaz and Tzia were on the same server... ah well. I'll get this eventually.

Pristine Yeti Horns - Ugh

Okay, well, Yaz is almost 56, and I spent almost all my time in Winterspring, killing Ursas, Shaman, and Yetis. I started the night trying to finish up the patch of fur Yeti quest, and ended up killing anything that got in my path to bring Xavi up to 55 with me. Also did the quest for a new chest piece with 20 Agi and 12 Stam. Now nuetral with the Timbermaw.

Ran back to Everlook, stopped and killed Ursius, turned that in, picked up the Chillwind quest. Then I picked up the Pristine Yeti Horn part of the Yeti quest line, and went off to kill Matriarch and Patriarch Yeti. I remember it took me a while on my paladin, but that was because I was in competition for every yeti at that time -- I swear half the server population was doing the same quest when I was leveling Di.

Anyways, I get to the area where the Yeti are, noticed an Alliance druid/warrior combo killing things, a Horde hunter with scorpid killing stuff, and another Horde hunter with an orange tiger... all are going after any yeti that move, so I know that the repops will come quick. I find a Matriarch, hit my Hunter's Mark/Pet Attack macro (love that lil thing) and start shooting.

The Matriarch dropped the horn I needed, I thought, yay, this will be easy! Oh how wrong was I... I spent over a solid hour killing Matriarch and Patriarch Yeti. Lost the pet once due to an in-cave repop of five right in a row... I mean that poor pig got swarmed, one or two we could have handled... but five with all parties being 57-58s? No way I could do it. I dropped a trap and booked it.

I stayed out of the cave after rezzing the pet... if they were popping up that quickly, I'd need all the room I could get. About ten minutes later... and probably the 50th Yeti to fall, I got my second horn.

Took me over an hour, with minimal competition, to get two horns. Eww. Reminded me far too much of the Barrens quest for Zevera Hooves -- they share them ya know? You kill 5 and finally find one hoof.

Yazmin 55

With Yaz having hit level 55, she only has three more levels to go until I can start working on the Pridewatcher Mount. Yes, I decided I wanted the mount, then Outlands - Epic Land Mount is almost a must, imo. I will be stepping into Outlands briefly to get the Rage Reaver axe- and level up the skill while doing the three Pridewatcher Mount Quests.

With the advent of 2.3 going live and opening the Winterspring Animal Quest to Alliance, I am considering dropping Japhrimel (Humar) and picking up Sian-Rotam (white male lion). If I did, I will be naming him Aldarimel, which means Morning Star. Aldarimel is also a name of a demon from the Dante Valentine series by Lilith Saintcrow. This demon is discribed as having blue eyes and hair that ran with snow white flame... sounds close enough to Echeyakee or Sian to me! Japh matched his name too, but I believe it will be easier for me to level a 60 to 70 over a level 48.

But this decision will wait for a while, since I will be slowing down my leveling while working at the cat mount. Yes, I will be saving quite a chunk of change up front, but I know that I will have to pay it when I get my Flying Mount at 70. I can't skip a riding skill level. So, instead of my snowy gryphon costing 1k it will be 1.5k in cost. That I can deal with, no problem.

Good-bye Un'goro, Hello Winterspring!

Yazmin hit 54, finally got rid of her [Triprunner Dungarees], traded them in for an of the monkey green mail pair of pants. Yay! She also just got the [Deep River Cloak]. I'm looking at the mail chest reward from the Winterspring Timbermaw person, but that thing is level 58 and will probably require a lil bit of care while soloing it.

Xavi is level 53 at the moment, so Winterspring is proving to be a challenge. I ran up to Frostsaber Rock, got killed by the cats and rezzed only to learn that the quest for the Frostsaber Mount only become available at level 58. /sigh. Now I'm torn... do I grind it out, and get to Outlands by this Friday, or do I hit 58 and grind out the rep I need with that faction to get the epic Winterspring Frostsaber? Because I cannot have a Frostsaber mount on Tzia, I kind of want one on Yaz, a way of having Ruka with me at all times (Ruka is Tzia's main pet and a Frostsaber Pridewatcher).

The mount would deffinately be unique, and a first for me. I did grind so that Yaz could ride a Spotted Frostsaber... now I want this Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber.

Changes are Happening

Yazmin reached 53, managed to get Japh to level 48, he'll be stabled until Yaz and Xavi reach 70... at least that is the foreseeable future. I'll be finishing up Un'goro with Xavi, then move on to Winterspring and hit Outlands at 58, right on schedule. I think my gear will be able to hold up until about 56 when I can start upgrading my neck, bracers and boots, which will need the biggest upgrades prior to stepping through the portal.

Yazmin has switched guilds again, I went back to the original guild I started with on Echo Isles - Phoenix Wrath. Order of the Temple was a nice guild, but it just wasn't active enough for my tastes. Being the only one on a lot of the time got too lonely.

I want to be in Outlands before next Friday. We'll see I guess.

Draenei Hunter - 52 with Black Lion Updates

Well, Japhrimel made it to level 42 before Yaz got to 52. I managed to speed through the needed experience for Xavi to ding 52, then switched back over to the cat. I'm doing nothing but grinding right now in Azshara. Killing Naga and various highborne ghosts - attempted a 50 elite blue dragonkin and decided that was a bad idea... Japh died really, really quickly... and the entire point of killing stuff is for KITTY to gain experience, not me!

I've got probably 5-8 quests complete and just sitting in my log from Un'goro. Once I ding 53 I'll probably stable Japh, where ever he may be in levels and let the rest figure itself out when Yazmin and Xavi have hit 70. Because I highly doubt I will get large patches of pet leveled to me once I turn in those quests.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see... and no, I did not log out at an inn, I logged Yaz out on a hill overlooking some temple ruins. That way I can kill stuff in the morning with no run time!

As for me? I'm headed to bed. Got class tomorrow. But hey, its a Friday, that means I have the entire weekend ahead to play!

Draenei Hunter - 51 Now what?

Yazmin is sitting at level 51. She dinged 51 while in ZF, having a very fun time too, I might add. But now I've got nothing but Un'goro left... and a ton of quests too. >.< No, I'm not happy about un'goro ... see previous post solely on me being squashed by roaming ravenous devilsaur.

I supose I could take a break at 51, and go drag out Japh, work with the kitty a bit, and see how much they pumped up the pet leveling... Now my question is... what is the lowest level mob I can kill while not murdering the pet every time... guess its back to Tanaris and killing anything but Basali?

I'll get back to you on how far Japh made it before I personally dinged to 52. And with 52 comes BRD! -- and yes,I know, I really should just finish Un'goro so I can go to Winterspring!

Hunter Survives It All

Aspect of the Hare had an amusing post yesterday, and something pretty similar happened to me as well. I was on Yazmin, and looking to run something, since I couldn't find jack on Tzia yesterday. So, I joined the LFG channel, with ZF as my dungeon of choice. Caught a message of "Tank and Healer looking for 3More", so I said I'd go, we apparently attracted a mage, and I suggested my guild leader while he was on his rogue. We ran it, almost wiped once, lost the mage, subbed in a warlock and just had fun.

While we still had the mage a 3 pull turned into a 6 pull due to a 3 mob pat landing on us. I know my comment to the group was quite simply, "Oh shit, 3 inc!" And it was.

The mage did a reactionary Frost Nova, for which I am still grateful for. That slowed everything down, and I sent my boar after the lizard that had been part of the three pull, and threw down a trap, which froze another, taking the 6 pull down to 4. We managed to kill one as the mage died, then we lost the healer as my trap broke and the lizard died.

We lost my guild leader in there somewhere as well, and it got to the point of the warrior cutting and running, to try and draw stuff off me and the healer... who had already died. We were down to three things, me focusing on one with the boar, the other two chasing the warrior. I think the warrior either A: made it out, or B: just got really lucky because the two things came back to me right as I was killing the third thing, avoiding flame totems and trying to deal with two things landing on me at the same time.

Most of the last two were a blur of flying fingers, button mashing, and re-directing my pet a few times. But, when it was all done, I was oom, the boar was gasping for breath and bleeding all over the place, but everything we'd pulled was dead.

I looked down at the chat log as I sat to drink and saw, "Heal Yaz first, then rez us." from the warrior. I chirped back that I was fine and everything was dead... that was a good feeling... hunter took on 6 and survived. :D

Un'goro

Yick! That's my first comment on entering Un'goro. Yeah, its a pretty place, but all the oozes and tar beasts running around kinda ruin the scenery... if you know what I mean.

I pointed Yazmin towards Marshal's Refuge immediately, and picked up all the quests I could. Checked my ammo, food, water, and non-combat chicken then set off questing. One thing I'd forgotten though... this is Un'goro Crater. Giant Impact Term less MONSTERS roam the crater.

Yazmin got smushed no less than six times by three different Tyrant Devilsaur... fear for the loss! The first time I laughed it off, it was a wake-up call, I'd barely woken up when I started questing in real life, didn't even have coffee- so I was playing a bit bleary-eyed anyway.

By the third time I was running back to my corpse, I was wondering if I was just having a really, really bad time... I didn't remember dying this many times with Tzia or Dione. Then again, Di is a bit harder to eat - plate does that to teeth.

Anyways, I rezzed, and promptly got eaten by the third Devilsaur of the day. Didn't have time to rez the pet, drink, nada. It was rez and RAWR!!! Dead hunter. My guild leader was laughing his rear off... because usually Feign Death saves my butt, while his little rogue-self is usually squashed flat.

I managed to ooze my squashed self back, watch the Devilsaur pat away, then rez, pop up the pet, and run away!! In between the time of being smushed by ravenous Tyrant Devilsaur's, I managed to get a few quests done and then turned them all in. Yaz is almost to 51, the boar is 50, but I'm tired of being flattened for a while, so I'm going to go play Sims 2... once I have all the expansions re-installed.

More of Yazmin's adventures in Un'goro tomorrow!

Hunter, money, and some hunter blog

Well, Yazmin dinged 50! And I ran her off into Searing Gorge to pick up a chest piece, since I was still wearing something from the mid 30s and it was leather... eww. Mail, with agility, stamina, and intelect. Should last me for a bit of time, I hope. Only a few more levels to outlands.

I have also been back-reading several diffrent hunter related blogs. I ran into an old post off Bremm's Musings declaring that outlands should not be attempted before 60... just due to the fact that a person will have a harder time with it.

I find, from previous experience with my Troll hunter Tzia and her pet kitty, Ruka, that 58 was just fine. But then, I am also a bit picky when it comes to gear and was able to conserve gold and had enough on dinging 70 to buy my flyer... so money is not an issue for me, and that I remember was one of the major problems with this person's post.

I figure Yazmin will have an easier time in outlands than her horde predecessor. The reasons for that being:

1. She has a tanking pet, not a dps pet.
2. I already know what I will face, prior knowledge will keep her alive.
3. Fel Reavers have an impact term - hallelujah!
4. I will be grinding for money, not questing as much... want epic land mount asap.

Yazmin is 50, as I stated earlier... she is still in a few pieces of leather - Triprunner Dungurees, some agi/stam leather shoulders, and I think that's it now that the chest piece is out of the way... but her gear is holding up, as is Xavi the boar, who got his updates of bite, gore, and charge - still needs to hit 50 before I can give the lil armored piggy a better growl.

I'm still a bit upset with the AH. Echo Isles Alliance prices are insane in my oppinion, but I do remember the fact of supply and demand... there are tons of hunters out there and a very very tiny portion of gear that is good for hunters, therefore demand is high, supply sucks, so pricing is in the stupidly rediculous range.

It just means I will be hoping for good gear to drop over buying it, unless I can find really good items for cheap... and when I do, believe me, those pieces won't remain on the Auction block longer than it takes me to click 'buyout'!

Draenei Hunter 41- 49

41-49

Yazmin is 49 at the time of this post. I leveled her through a number of various places, mostly in Theramore, Feralas, and Tanaris; helped out Woven on his Rogue with a Stranglethorn matter... that was a fun experience.

We died what... six times trying to do a quest involving a witch doctor - I think? Three adds + Witchdoctor + a patrol = one very frazzled hunter and an appoligetic rogue. I had fun with it though. It was testing my reflexes and response more than a Kara run will, because all I had was myself, the rogue, and the pet. I would have refused the 5g he tossed at me for the trouble, but he was persistant.

At 46 I started pulling out Humar, whom I named Japhrimel - after a character from the Dante Valentine Series by Lilith Saintcrow - working on leveling him up. I'll only be doing this when I am out of rested xp and the boar is caught up to me in level.

At 47 I managed to level Japh from 27 - 36 before I hit 48 and put him back in the stable to bring out Xavi again and continue questing.

At 49 I have run ZF once, have the mallet thanks to a very awesome hunter from Phoenix Wrath (thank you a ton!). The ZF run was a partial nightmare for me. I was coping very well with things going wrong... I am willing to PUG - hence the name of the blog - but this guy was irking me.

Had another hunter in the group. He claimed to have a high level warrior, so he and I got to sending whispers back and forth. He also had a boar. The boar was on defensive (which I can overlook ... if you are awesome), had growl on, and charge. I think my trap broke about 4 times just due to that stupid boar having charge active. Its a known hunter issue. Said hunter also claimed that growl cannot pull aggro off a tank... umm what are you smoking and can I please have some?

I can pull aggro with growl off a high level tank, so I was pretty adamant about the fact that it can be done, and growl should not be on in a group unless the tank royally sucks and you have to pet tank it... The tank for that run was pretty good, even if she was being power word: sheilded by the priest every time. She maintained aggro almost flawlessly. We wiped only once, and that was due to Gaz'rilla being in a bad spot due to bad clearing. Ah well, we got our carrots.

At 49 my current plans for Yazmin are:

  • Do the Felwood Timbermaw quests.
  • Keep leveling Japhrimel.
  • Ungoro next for questing.
  • Get better gear!

Draenei Hunter 21 - 40

21-30
Around my late teens, early 20s there was some friction with myself and other members of Phoenix Wrath that caused me to split from the guild and look for another one.

I switched over to my cousin's guild, Blood Pack. The guild was okay, but still not what I was looking for exactly, so after a few days ther, I left and went hunting again for a place for my character to call home. I'm pretty picky about this because with my horde hunter, I run a guild, so what I think a guild should be is defined.

I stumbled onto a little guild called Order of the Temple. It was just forming, and in some ways still is. Wovencroft is the Guild Leader, and so far I think he and I are getting along all right. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is good, I think Yaz might stay here for quite some time...

At 30 I decided I wanted a boar. The last boar available until 48 is a level 26, from Razorfen Kraul. Before I went to the Barrens, I ran into Redridge and tamed Bellygrub - a level 24 boar that knows charge 3 and Gore 4. Learned those skills and then switched back to my lion.

RFK is not something that should be done without a group, but I went in on my own - I had Feign Death, I could easily run far enough past the stuff at the entrance and FD out of issues... then pop up, lay my trap and tame my piggy friend... right? Wrong.

I died 5 times trying to get a boar... mostly due to the stuff at the very start and to the left of the entrance... would either resist or I'd fall too far and well... it wasn't pretty.

When I finally did get clear of the mess of mobs at the start of the instance? I grabbed a level 25 Raging Agam'ar, but decided I didn't like the look of the lighter colored boar. I was going to tame the level 26 Rotting Agam'ar, but couldn't get to it due to a patrolling ooze. I settled for a level 25 Agam'ar, which I named Xavi and hearthed out.

31-40
I spent 30-32 leveling Xavi up to my level in Ashenvale, doing quests and killing random mobs as it suited me. At 30 I was finishing up many of the Night Elf Rep quests. At 34 I was exaulted with Teldrasil. I then turned my attention to raising enough money by 40 to have my skills and my mount training.

I ran SM Cathedral once with Yazmin, it was a run-through with a 60 warrior leading the group. I only screwed up once... forgot that there was a mob to the left of a door way, stepped through and got killed pretty quickly. Not too fun for me, the healer rezzed and the group moved on. I didn't get anything but xp out of that run... it was worth it though... reminded me what grouping can be like with inexperienced players, and why I had enjoyed SM so much on Tzia.

After that run, I went over to Ratchet and popped up near Humar's tree, just to see if the black cat was home... he was! So I dashed back to Ratchet, dropped Xavi off in the stable and tamed myself a pretty black male lion.

At 40 I had enough money 104g to be exact to buy my mount, which cost 80g and get all my level 40 training too! I was happy with myself! I'd hit a major milestone - Yazmin to 40. Next goal is 50.

Draenei Hunter 1 - 20

Yazmin. 49. Likes bows, arrows, and killing stuff. Has a pet boar, formerly from RFK. She is a goat-girl as well...

No, its not a profile, or the starting sentences to a new story I'm writing. Its my alliance hunter over on Echo Isles. I decided to start and level a hunter because I have a cousin that is playing on that particular server, and on the other side of the faction line. I figured I might as well play with somebody I know, so about two weeks ago, I rolled a female Draenei hunter and called it Yazmin.

1-10
Started her through the Draenei starting area, got her to 10 - only dying twice in the entire proccess of getting to 1o (go me :p)! I got her little butt on a boat as soon as I had the pet training quest complete, and headed to Auberdine.

Grabbed a black and white tiger, and ran her down the road, dodging through monsterous bears and stags and icky murlocs. Died to a walking mass of vegitation, and almost blundered into some very scary looking Tauren at a pointy gate. That was just the first brush with Ashenvale she would encounter, since I wanted a specific first pet for her... I wanted the Rake.

Dodged around the tauren, going through a break in the fence. And then died to a freaking Tallstrider! Lucky for me, I knew exactly where I was and where I was going too, so I took the rez sick hit, and ran her towards Camp T, some how managing to avoid aggroing most of the mobs along the way...

Got around Camp T no problem, and ran her into Mulgore. I knew where the Rake spawned from previous trips to Mulgore helping out guildies on my "horde" server, dropped the black and white tiger -which had just been a distractor pet- and grabbed a Prairie Wolf Alpha to teach Yaz bite. Then I settled in to wait for the male lion to spawn.

While waiting, I ran into Ghost Howl, killed him, and equipped the cloak - it was better than what Yaz was wearing at the time. Glancing around again, I spotted the Rake, and dropped the wolf.

The tame was a snap. I had a very grouchy male lion on my hands once it was all said and done, but I fed him, got him happy, and then started killing things in Mulgore. On a PvE realm I felt comfortable killing things as long as I stayed away from Thunder Bluff.

Killed Mazzranache, and got a decent chest piece. The Rake repopped, and I killed him, getting an even better chest piece, which Yaz equipped. Then I hearthed out and continued questing with my cat... which I cannot remember what I named... odd really...

During this time I was with a guild called Phoenix Wrath - great people, chat regularly with one of their hunters still - and was lucky enough for the guild leader, Zuko, to run me through a few diffrent instances for gear.

11-20
Zuko ran me through Dead Mines once and through SFK as well, which helped me with gear to level (I cannot say thank you enough). During that time, I had the lion, which was really only a few days - I was jumping through the levels so quickly.

At about 19 I picked up mining, dropping the leatherworking I'd picked up - but keeping the skinning. I'd decided that Yaz would be nothing but a money making character and I'd buy what I needed off the AH.

While deciding on my professions, I had decided that Yazmin, even though a Draenei, would be riding a Night Elf Cat come 40. I already had a good chunk of rep earned from doing all the starting Draenei quests. So, I went back and did all the Auberdine quests and any over in Teldrasil that I might have missed.
